The starter set contains everything you need: attachment, glass weight and recipes. The set is also available as a ripple glass. How high are the fermentation lids?
The lids are 2.5 cm high.
Are the glass weights in the fermentation set also available with a handle?
Our glass weights do not have a handle - but a handle is not necessary. The weight can be removed without any problems if there is enough liquid in the glass.
Do I have to pay attention to anything regarding the glass weights?
It is important to use enough liquid so that the glass weight can be easily lifted out of the glass. The brine is also the basis for a successful fermentation.
How do I sterilize the jars properly?
To avoid a temperature shock for the glass and thus possible breakage, we recommend sterilizing the glass gently: the glass should gradually get used to the temperature and the material can slowly expand. Therefore, we recommend placing the glasses in the water bath for sterilization and then heating them slowly.
