The spice jars are made of high-quality borosilicate glass . Borosilicate glass is very robust, dishwasher safe and 100% recyclable . The matching wooden lid is made of untreated bamboo . Wipe and clean the lid with a damp cloth.
Why bamboo and not regional wood as a lid? Bamboo is a grass - not wood. This means that the whole tree is not felled, but the plant is only "cut off" around the bamboo stalks - the roots remain and the grass does not die. Bamboo grows extremely quickly and is super robust . This means that no harmful fertilizers or pesticides are needed.
