We'll give you tips and tricks , ideas on how to create order and a system, how to keep it and, above all, why a well-organized home with our Mason Jar is so much fun. Let's start!

Organize the refrigerator
Our goal is to keep the refrigerator in good order:
- to waste less food because it is stored incorrectly in the refrigerator or gets lost
- Keep food fresh longer
- use less plastic
You've probably often asked yourself the question - does this have to go in the fridge? Which compartment is actually the right one? Just follow this order:
ABOVE : this is the warmest place and you can store foods such as cheese, already cooked food but also jam and long-lasting dips here.
MIDDLE : Dairy products such as cream and yoghurt are stored wonderfully here.
BOTTOM : this is the coldest place and perishable items should be stored here, such as sausage and meat.
Fruit and vegetables are stored at the very bottom .
We like to use the door for daily companions such as smoothies, milk or herbs, there is plenty of room for improvement in the water.
With these tips, food will last significantly longer and you will prevent food waste. Especially if you fill food directly into storage jars like our Oleni Mason Jars.
Which glass is particularly suitable for storing food? We particularly recommend our Mason Jars with wide openings for food in the fridge. Here are a few examples of how we like to fill our Oleni jars :
- Dips, spreads, sauces, jam, fruits
- Sprouts, yogurt, olives, pickles, overnight oats, leftover rice, cheese
- Smoothies, carrots, (homemade) oat milk, sprouts, pasta leftovers
- cooked tomato sauce, leftover pasta, pre-cut fruit/vegetables

Why you should definitely use glasses for a well-organized refrigerator
- Glass is tasteless and odorless. It remains completely neutral - no matter what you put in the glass.
- the contents are immediately visible and there is no need to cover or open bowls.
- Glass is reusable & recyclable.
- Glass is robust.
And of course, what's special about our FAVORITE GLASS : it's multifunctional when combined with our accessories. It saves space in the kitchen thanks to its flexible use. A glass isn't just a storage container - it's also a lemon squeezer or lunch box . That makes it sustainable and long-lasting.
Tips for keeping your fridge tidy
- Transfer leftover food directly into jars. This way you can see at a glance what and how much is left in the fridge.
- It is best to wash fruit and vegetables immediately after shopping - this way you are guaranteed to consume fresh food more quickly.
- Store fresh herbs in a glass full of water. They will stay fresh for much longer, or freeze the herbs beforehand. You can find out more about this in our article here.
- Carrots and celery also last much longer in a glass full of water.

Plastic-free storage and shopping
Of course, you can easily make lots of spreads, sauces and smoothies yourself - this saves a lot of plastic waste and allows you to prepare small or large portions depending on the size of your household or the amount you eat. This also prevents unnecessary food waste.
